Love Has No Boundaries …Chuck and Irma’s Wedding

It was a stressful week at work and weekend is going to be busy since I have to attend my CBA Class and some important events. I have an examination on Marketing Management on Saturday, November 6th. This subject is part of my Chartered Business Administration Program at the Asian Institute of Management. This means I have to review and prepare for this test. After my class, I had to attend Chuck and Irma’s Wedding at 3:30 PM at Fernbrook Gardens at Portofino New Alabang. Then on Sunday, Christine, my friend and office colleague invited me to attend his son’s 3rd birthday. I was his son’s god mother “Ninang” when he was baptized in the Catholic church. What a busy week for me !!!

Christine and I were both invited to attend Chuck and Irma’s wedding on November 6, 2010. Last November 5, Friday, after work, we rushed to SM Department store in Sta. Rosa to get the gift certificates for the couple’s wedding. We did not buy any item for the couple but just gift certificates so they can choose what they really wanted to buy at any SM Department Stores. The couple was actually registered at Rustan’s Wedding and Beyond and they selected the items they prefer to receive so there will be no duplications. However, the items that were left were the expensive ones already so we decided on getting the gift certificates. It is not how much you spend for the gift but what matter most is the thought and your presence during the wedding day that counts. After that, Christine had to look for a long gown to wear for the wedding. We were told that it has to be a long dress. She wasn’t really planning on buying one because we were only planning to wear a cocktail dress until knee length but Irma said it must be a long dress. It was not a problem for me because I have an existing gown which I used for other weddings already. We looked at every gown stores at SM until we got one at the Okasyon Store after fitting some gowns. It was actually getting late since most of the stores are closing already but the sales ladies at the Okasyon Store still accommodated us. We finished at around 9:30 PM and we still need to review for our examination the following day. Christine is also my classmate at the CBA Program.

Here we are dressed-up for the wedding (Christine and Me). From our CBA Class in Makati, we went to Jackie & Tony's salon at Festival Mall to fix our hair and proceeded to the Apo Staffhouse which is rented by Sunpower for people coming from U.S. The staff house is located in Ayala Alabang.  We had to change at the staffhouse because if we go back to our homes we will not be able to make it to the wedding.

How do we look ?

I met Irma at SunPower when I joined the company during the second quarter of 2004 as a Sr. Administrative and Executive Asst. to the Managing Director (Administration Dept).  Sunpower was just a start-up company at that time. Wow ! that's how loyal I am with my company. She was with HR Training Department then and was pregnant at that time. She joined the Administration Dept. as Administrative Specialist after giving birth. We became close as we worked together and I became the god mother of his son when the child was baptized. Irma’s relationship with the father of his child was a very complicated one. Chuck was an expat who came to Sunpower in mid 2005 and was married and with grown-up children. To make the story short, they both fell in love and it was not an easy situation for both of them because of the people around them and there are people who will definitely be hurt. I am sure Chuck did his best not to hurt the people he loved as a family man by continuously having a good relationship with them and supporting them. I knew that people around them took this as a negative thing but who are we to judge two people who are in love. Irma resigned from the company. It’s been around 4 years and they are still together and finally became officially husband and wife. I saw Chuck walking down the aisle and all I can see is a blooming gentleman with a never-ending glowing smile on his face. The word "Blooming" is more appropriate for a woman but I would like to use it for Chuck as I saw a different aura on his face during that time. I can say,  he is definitely so happy and so in love with Irma.

What striked me is how this couple managed to fight for their love for each other. Everyone has the right to be happy and to be with the one they truly love. LOVE REALLY HAS NO BOUNDARIES… Age differences, race/culture, religion, distance or whatever situation you are in. LOVE has NO BARRIERS, NO RULE ! LOVE does not discriminate. For as long as there is great love in your heart for that one person regardless of circumstances, Love and relationship will survive. You just need commitment and to work on your differences. Fight for your one True Love !!!
