Sunpower Philippines Mfg. Ltd. Is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunpower Corporation U.S.A. with two manufacturing facilities in the Philippines : Cell Fab 2 located at Laguna Technopark, Binan, Laguna and Cell Fab 2 located at FPIP, Batangas. It is the first wafer fab in the Philippines and the first large-scale solar cell facility in South East Asia. Cell Fab 3 which is being started in Melaka, Malaysia is a joint venture between AUO and Sunpower which is a 1 Gigawatt facility. Sunpower manufactures high efficiency silicon solar cells to meet the increasing worldwide demand for clean, reliable solar electric power systems.
Just recently, Cell Fab 2 celebrated its 3rd Year Anniversary last July 30, 2010. Highlights of the events were :
1. Sunpower 3K Fun Run “Run as One” for the benefit of our CSR’s charity projects
2. Sunpower Cell Fab 2 Greenhouse Inauguration
3. Talent Contest “It’s Showtime” participated by employees
